Soalan ni selalu datang dari client aku — "Nak teruskan guna email cPanel, atau migrate ke Microsoft 365?" Dua-dua ada kelebihan dan kekurangan masing-masing. Dalam guide ni, aku akan breakdown pros & cons, bila sesuai guna mana satu, dan kalau dah decide nak migrate — macam mana nak buat dengan betul.
Ini bukan sekadar teori — aku dah buat migration ni untuk beberapa client, so aku share real-world experience aku.

🚀 Migration Guide — cPanel ke M365
Step-by-step cara migrate dengan minimal downtime
Subscribe M365 Plan
Pergi ke Microsoft 365 Admin Center, subscribe plan yang sesuai. Untuk SME, Business Basic (RM20/user/bulan) dah cukup. Setup tenant dan verify domain kau.
Verify Domain di M365
Microsoft akan minta kau tambah TXT record kat DNS untuk verify domain ownership. Login ke DNS management (Plesk/cPanel/Cloudflare), tambah record yang diberikan.
Create User Accounts
Dalam M365 Admin Center, create user accounts untuk semua staff. Assign license kepada setiap user. Boleh import via CSV kalau users ramai.
Migrate Email Data
Guna IMAP migration tool dalam M365 Admin Center untuk migrate existing emails dari cPanel ke Exchange Online. Process ni boleh ambil masa beberapa jam bergantung pada saiz mailbox.
Update MX Records
Ini step kritikal — update MX record domain kau ke Microsoft. Lepas ni, semua email baru akan masuk ke M365. Old emails still accessible kat cPanel semasa migration berlaku.
Update SPF, DKIM & DMARC
Pastikan DNS records untuk email authentication dikemaskini. Ini penting untuk deliverability dan elak email kau masuk spam.
Configure Outlook / Mail Client
Setup Outlook atau mail client staff. Kalau guna Outlook desktop, login dengan Microsoft account terus — auto configure. Untuk mobile, download Outlook app.
Test & Monitor
Send test emails in/out. Check spam folder. Monitor MX propagation via MXToolbox. Pastikan semua staff boleh send/receive sebelum fully cut over dari cPanel.
⚠️ Common Issues & Fix
⚡ Email masuk spam selepas migrate
Check SPF, DKIM dan DMARC records. Guna MXToolbox untuk verify. Pastikan SPF record include spf.protection.outlook.com.
⚡ MX record lambat propagate
DNS propagation boleh ambil masa sehingga 48 jam. Guna whatsmydns.net untuk check propagation status globally.
⚡ Old emails tak migrate
IMAP migration kadang skip emails yang ada flag tertentu. Boleh export .PST dari Thunderbird dan import manually ke Outlook.
⚡ Staff tak boleh login M365
Pastikan license dah assign. Check MFA setup — first time login kena setup authenticator app. Reset password dari Admin Center kalau perlu.
⚡ Email dari cPanel lama still masuk sana
MX record belum fully propagate. Tunggu 24-48 jam. Boleh check TTL DNS record — set TTL rendah (300) sebelum migration untuk speed up propagation.
💡 Bottom line: Kalau kau serious pasal business email, Microsoft 365 memang worth the investment. Tapi kalau budget terhad dan keperluan basic je, cPanel email masih viable option. Yang penting — pastikan email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) setup dengan betul regardless mana satu kau pilih.
